A member asked:

How is lisinopril for treatment of high blood pressure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lisinopril and HBP: Lisinopril (l) works to lower BP by correcting enodthelial dysfunction (e), which is thicking of the arterial wall. Correcting e takes about 2 weeks to be effective and causes the artery to be more compliant (c). Increasing c causes a lowering of bp. L also lower protein in the urine which is another beneficial action of l.
