BP and lisinopril: Lisinopril (L) is a member of the angiotension converting enzyme inhibitor (ACE-I) class of drugs. It not only reduces BP, it also reduces proteinuria (P) , protein in the urine, which can be a sign of developing cardiovascular and kidney disease. The most common side effect of L is a cough. It is a great first line agent to lower BP in patients prone to develop P, such as diabetics.
