Exam needed: He needs investigation into those symptoms. The vascular surgeon can evaluate the back pain as aortic pathology can be a cause although a musculoskeletal cause is more likely. His physician or a gastroenterologist would evaluate the abdominal discomfort and constipation. Because of the intensity of the discomfort, he should be examined as soon as possible, perhaps in the emergency department.
