Hydration and Fiber: Generally speaking, in otherwise healthy individuals, constipation often results from low hydration status or low fiber intake, or both. It's not clear from your question if the colonoscopy was aborted due to stool. If functional problems have been assessed and obstruction ruled out, try increasing hydration and fiber until follow-up with his physicians.
