Dental Abscess: The antibiotic is helping with your symptoms but not actually treating the tooth. If the problem is endodontic in nature, the tooth needs root canal therapy to remove the bacteria from inside the tooth. Regardless of the cause, please see a local dentist for definitive care.

Dental infection: Antibiotics will limit spread of infection, and symptoms should lessen after 48 hours, but pills will not cure infection. Root canal treatment or extraction will be required, or when you stop the Meds the infection will come roaring back. Please discuss appropriate treatment with our Dentist, and don't stop taking prescribed Meds until Rx runs out.
