Yes: Infants and young children throw up after coughing so frequently that we have a medical term for it: post-tussive emesis. You don't need to see your doctor just because your child vomits a little bit of phlegm after coughing, but if you think he's having difficulty breathing, if he turns blue (not red) when coughing or if he passes out after coughing he definitely needs to be seen by a physician.

No: If it happens infrequently it is unlikely to be a concern. However, if it is persistent or becoming more frequent, it can be a sign of reflux, breathing or heart problems.

Yes: We call this "post tussive emesis" - doctor speak for cough induced vomiting. It is very common and is not a cause for alarm. If it persists for more than 3-5 days, you should see your doctor.
