Smoker?: There are a number of common things that cause a chronic cough. Post nasal drip from allergies is one, asthma is another, reflux disease, and emphysema or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Throwing up after a coughing episode is called post-tussive emesis. That is pretty normal.
