Wrong question: The question is has your 12 year old's "jammed finger" been properly evaluated and treated by a qualified medical personel? If it is hard to get her mitt on, obviously sounds to me that the finger is quite swollen, or worse yet, deformed. Rather than address if "she can play", I would ask, can she afford to live with a crooked finger? [Speaking from the perspective of a hand surgeon of course.]
