How do ativan and klonopin compare in as far as their effectiveness....how many hours does each work for?

Same family: These medications are in the same family but klonopin lasts longer and is often administered once or twice a day. Ativan has a shorter duration of action and can be given 3 times daily. Also it starts working faster than klonopin. Klonopin is used to treat phobias,panic disorders and certain seizure disorders. Ativan seems to be used to treat anxiety mostly.
