Confusing statement: Shoulder dystocia is a term used to describe delay in delivery when the shoulder is advanced into the outlet for delivery. It is very common. It may or may not have anything to do with a kids erratic muscle tone or seizures that imply damage to motor centers in the brain. More than half of kids with CP findings have a normal pregnancy/labor/delivery.
