Seek Med/Checkup: What you describe is a Pleuritic chest pain. This means that there is likely to be some inflammation in or around your left lung. This requires medical evaluation for pneumonia or a blood clot. You should go see your doctor right away and get a Chest X-ray done. You may also need a CT scan of the lung to check for a blood clot (PE) in the lung.
