Sonogram: Typically at this point the doctor would so a sonogram to verify that an intrauterine pregnancy can be confirmed. They will not likely see a fetus yet but they can confirm a gestational sac is located inside of the uterus. This is an important step as it rules out an ectopic pregnancy
