A member asked:

I'm treating an ear infection with meds i was prescribed by my doctor. i noticed that in the one ear there's blood. should i be concerned?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: During the assessment for your infection the doc may have needed to move some wax out of the way with a tool. This can scratch the canal & lead to minor bleeding noted later. A painful infection may bore through the eardrum causing a rupture that can lead to some blood. The way to know for sure would be a new exam. Call & discuss with the doc or staff during regular hours.
