A member asked:

What does it mean when you have been diagnosed with a 50% blocked artery in your neck. how do you treat it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Carotid stenosis: This is a progressive, slow disease process of atherosclerosis. It means nothing without the context of age, risk factors, and history of TIA/CVA. Treatment options include medicinal (aspirin, plavix, etc). Surgery is carotid endarterectomy. A vascular surgeon would be helpful.
