Can a parent of a child with measles be contagious?

Depends: If the parent never had or was never immunized against measles they may have had the same exposure as the kid. This might make them contagious in the pre-symptomatic period. If immune, the only way they could pass it was carrying contaminated material (kids saliva)around & spreading it to others. You don't carry it passively.
