What is viral exanthematous fever ? my kid got this but doc told this is not measles a or chickenpox and lesions are not contagious. please clarify.

Viral Exanthem: This is not a specific disease. It is a virus with an exanthem (rash) an a fever. Few days of supportive care with fluids, acetaminophen/iburofen and should be good as new. The lesions may not be contagious but the virus surely is.

Rash and fever: Viral exanthem is fever with Rash due to viruses . There are many viruses apart from measles and chickenpox which can cause them . Need not worry the rash subside once body fights viral infection.
