Varies: Each extraction is different. You have inflamed tissue from the infection, and the extraction just added insult to injury. Take anti-inflammatory meds and antibiotics as directed.

A while: You had a combination of an infection and surgery. How long you will e sore depends on the virulence of the infection, the extent of the surgery, and your general health. The 2 days after surgery are the most difficult, then the soreness should begin to back off. Follow your post-surgical instructions and take all meds as instructed. If in doubt, call your treating practitioner.
