I hit a vein in my wrist a few hours ago at work and the swelling came immediately. i'm guessing i reptured a vein. there is no discoloration or pain?

Broken blood vessel: There may be discoloration by tomorrow. The rule of thumb, however, is any pain/bleeding/swelling should be evaluated by a physician. In the meantime, cold compresses.
