Hi, my 3 year old has been getting fevers going to 38degrees every night for the past week. paracetamol is dropping it but it comes back in the night.

Not impressive: A low grade fever like this will often accompany a mild viral illness. If it does not otherwise alter his activities I would ignore it. It doesn't need meds. It should pass in a few days. If his feeding & play are off or he develops other specific symptoms he should be evaluated.
