Geneticist: The real question is what is the value? This sort of thing is very unlikely to save his life. A woman with certain genes may have enough risk for breast or ovarian carcinoma to warrant prophylactic surgery; there's no counterpart in a man. I'd urge him simply to practice healthy habits and maintain routine surveillance against cancer, likely everyone else, and enjoy having a devoted wife.
