A member asked:

Left ovary could not be visualized by transabdominal or endovaginal technique, but no abnormal adnexal masses are noted.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ovary: ultrasound: Ovaries can be masked by the intestines, and not specifically identified on ultrasound exams. If significant cysts or masses are present, the ovary can be more easily identified. It is not unusual to miss identifying an inactive ovary with no abnormalities within.
