A member asked:

If you had a pulmonary embolism, would the symptoms get worse over a 7 week period?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Of course if you're continuing to have recurrent bouts of embolism, your symptoms would worsen. If the initial lung damage was complicated by secondary infection, accumulation of pleural effusion or triggered right sided heart failure, symptoms would increase in severity .Otherwise after days or weeks the initial damage and symptoms generally gradually improve.
