A member asked:

Is the pain associated with pulmonary embolism a pain that hurts more when you take breathes? does it gradually get worse or can it come and go?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, usually: Pleuritic pain is what doctors call it and it can indeed come with a pulmonary embolism, but could also be any type of chest pain, or no pain at all. If you think you have a pulmonary embolism, get to the doctor or emergency room right away.
