An IUD would be: effective for birth control but would be unlikely to change your periods or their nature. Birth control pills or other hormonal therapy might be a better choice. You will probably have heavy flow as long as you are on the Xarelto but since a PE is life threatening it would make sense to continue treatment and put up with the inconvenience.

Hello. Ive had two clotting events. A DVT led to a pulmonary embolism in 2016 and a clot in my mesenteric artery in 2020. Xarelto 20mg x day. PCP did bloodwork and my testosterone is low so wants to put me on T shots to. Im not sure if thats ok?
