Sounds like: what you are describing could be petechiae or ecchymoses. This could be cause by drug/chemical exposure, insect bite, injury, or undiagnosed bleeding disorder. It is best to show them to your doctor.

Need evalution: Non blanching purple spots sound like purpura which can be related to inflammation of the blood vessels (vascultitis) or a problem with platelets and clotting. Sometimes very small petechiae will develop if there is venous stasis as often seen with varicose veins and standing a long time. Your family doctor will have a good idea after an exam.
