Sore throat: Infectious mononucleosis must be checked for as a cause of prolonged sore throat that has a negative strep culture. A simple viral pharyngitis wouldn't last that long. If mononucleosis testing proves negative, have an examination by an Otolaryngologist for diagnosis and treatment.
