Be patient: Even if the antibiotic is correct you cannot expect to get better in 1 day. A bacterial infection requires about 4-7 days to start to resolve. But remember if your physician has not taken a throat culture and waited for a culture and sensitivity, giving anantibiotic is a leap of faith.
