Maybe: Endometrial thickening can lead to endometrial hyperplasia which in turn can lead to endometrial cancer in a post menopausal woman who should have minimal estrogen stimulation. That is why an endometrial biopsy is done and the GYN MD looks for alternate sources of estrogen production at that age.
