Safe drug: Palivizumab (Synagis®) is used to help prevent respiratory synsytial virus (RSV) infection in children at increased risk for severe RSV infections, such as preemies, kids with cystic fibrosis, etc; and sometimes to treat established RSV infections. It is a safe drug, with infrequent side effects and very rarely serious ones. Discuss with the doctor if any doubts remain.
