What are your opinions on nootropics? like, is there any evidence saying that they work? which is recommended by the medical community?

Buyer Beware: If there are any good research studies comparing patients on a brain-enhancing substance vs. patients on a placebo, that show any real-life brain improvements (not outweighed by the substance's side effects), then such a substance might be worthy of consideration. If no good human studies are done, then sales pitches and testimonials have nothing to stand on.
