Following a pneumonia, my left lung gets stiff at night to the point it's hard to breathe.

Stiffness in lung: It can take time to recover from pneumonia. Not sure how long ago you had it, but give yourself some time. If you have troubles breathing though, I do suggest you see a physician for an exam and see if you need a follow up chest xray.
