Misoprostol: Misoprostol is given at this point in case there are still fragments of placental tissue remaining and need to be expelled. Usually, if bleeding has persisted since Jan 13, 2018, a D&C is done. Make sure that the pathology report shows an intrauterine pregnancy was documented on the aspiration contents. A serum HCG test will show if active tissue is still present.
