Depends: This often depends on availability & regional practices. Many GP's keep up with pediatric issues and for some it is half their practice. Pediatricians have more intense training in kid issues and commonly see them until adulthood. A Ped may be less likely to be stumped by an issue & refer you out for a minor problem. You may never need their extra training. The kid may not want to go one/the other
