Excess, no: It is how your body deals with sugar, not how much you eat that can lead to such problems. If you run higher than normal blood sugars as a type 2 diabetic, diagnosed or not, you are at risk of more vaginal yeast infections. Yeast loves sugar. A vaginal yeast infection is by definition a vaginitis. If you are irritated in that area you can also develop a UTI.
