what would happen if salt went down the wrong way or nacho chips?

Cough: The airways react to such invaders with a persistent cough until it can get the material up. A bit of salt would not trigger much, but the chip would. If it were stuck down the pipes, it would accumulate mucous & trigger a pneumonia.
