Perineal abscess: After draining a "perineal abscess" the area of the infection is typically swollen and hard. if the area is not still draining, this will resolve, but abscessed areas frequently re-form if a drain is not placed in the abscess cavity, so see your surgeon if the pain and swelling persists.
