This pain started after a root canal that i had 2 weeks ago. there was no pain prior to the procedure but i am now in agony. i have finished the full course of antibiotics prescribed but no difference to pain has been made. what could it be?

A few thoughts...: The infection may still be present or the tooth may be fractured. I would have your treating dentist re-evaluate the tooth.

Post endodontic pain: Could indicate failure of the root canal treatment, a split tooth, a "high" filling, or perhaps there is another canal that was not fully obdurated. Please return to Dentist who did your treatment. Pretreatment may be indicated. Important that a specialist Endodontist be involved in resolving your dilemma.
