A member asked:

My gf went for std screen shes 31 &on the sheet it says this candida albicans gram positive negative result what does it mean and do i need to worry ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Confusing post: Candida albicans is common yeast that is present on/in all human systems. Gram positive/negative is a contradiction of terms. If negative for gram positive germs it is a normal finding. It would be good to have a better explanation. The ordering provider should provide this analysis.
