Help for both of you: If your parent wants help, there are many good treatment programs, many of which do a free or low cost assessment. Alcoholics anonymous and lifering are community based support groups that are also very helpful. For you, there is al-anon, started by the wives of the founders of aa. You can arrange: For an intervention with a professional's help. They will help you ; others in your family who are worried to meet with him and get him into intensive treatment for his alcoholism. Each family member will be asked to tell your father that they are worried , that he will die from his behavior and that they want him to get treatment. Don't try to do it alone.
