Yes: The research is rather strong in this area. Alcoholism is highly heritable. You are very likely to have a strong 'genetic predisposition' toward alcoholism. Being in recovery, one hopes that your family has seen clearly that living a sober life is better. Perhaps this can help you remain sober and if you drink learn moderate strategies.
