A member asked:

My husband is in jail and one of the inmates in his cell block has been told he has scabies they have been treated what is the quarantine time frame?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No standard: Even in the close environment of a jail, scabies is most likely to be transmitted by direct touch. Once treatment has begun, transmission is unlikely unless there are crusts -- if so, isolation is appropriate until the crusts are healed. That's the best I could remember / find. I'm glad that your love is enduring despite this trying time and I know you are a strength for him. Best wishes.
