Unnecessary: i would advise not applying to the nipple because of unknown toxic effects on the neonate.

Permethrin: Avoid placing on the nipple prior to breast feeding and wipe off. Although it is only a small amount, it is a toxin that should not be ingested. Only a small amount of permethrin is absorbed through the skin. All the best and thank you.
