Neurologist did emg for my severe toe pain on both feet. he said pain was coming from trapped nerve in lower back. how would test know where pain from?

EMG: The test will show which nerves are not working right. Different nerves come from different parts of back. So if pain in area of a nerve distribution that originates in back and EMG shows that nerve not working right then it means is is likely due to problem up in back. Discuss with your team.
