Abscess relief.: You could try the very Warm compresses until it opens. Antibiotics will work. The best is surgical intervention with antibiotic protection though this is for the last stages of the abscess ( when it has fluid inside). The iodine probably will not work. Topically, you can try an antibiotic ointment ( over The counter like neomycin,bacitracin combination..)At least 6 times/day put there the cream
