Lump: A physician would have to examine the lump in order to make a diagnosis. It could be a lipoma or cyst. If the lump is in the center just below the sternum or breastbone, it could be a tender xiphoid process which is a piece of cartilage at the lower border of the sternum. Either way, she will have to be examined for diagnosis and advice.
