Be sure it is viral: Although rare in children under three years, strep can cause bleeding from the throat and nose. So can many viral infections. The infected mucosa is inflamed and raw and bleeds easily until the infection resolves. At 13 months there could be a foreign body in his nose so have a look or have his doctor check.
