Recommended for all: Anyone 6 months of age or older should get a flu shot each year to help prevent catching influenza A or B. One can skip the vaccination if she is truly allergic to it. Flu causes fever, cough, runny nose, ear infections, lung infections, etc... People at higher risk for severe influenza symptoms include pregnant women, the elderly, the immunosuppressed, asthmatics, young children and babies, etc.

Agree with Dr. D: Flu shot will prevent flu but it not likely that your daughter has flu every month. She probably get a viral infection like common cold. Visit this site for measures to prevent common cold: https://www.cdc.gov/features/rhinoviruses/index.html
