Nose blocked: If the nasal congestion is recent, this along with a feverish feeling makes a viral upper respiratory tract infection a likely cause. Chronic nasal blockage is seen with nasal polyps, allergies, sinus infection or vasomotor rhinitis often brought on by changes in ambient temperature, eating hot soup or certain foods. A head cold should resolve after several days. Nasal decongestant spray helps.
