A member asked:

Herniated disk at l-11due to a fall in 2015. it is worse have had reg treatments. 1. poss cause of being worse? 2. buttocks pain, leg pain. surgery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Neurosurgeon: The radiation of pain to the buttock and leg does point to a herniated disc at the lower lumbar region of the spine(l3-4, l4-5). Since your symptoms are worsening, I recommend an evaluation by a neurosurgeon. A repeat mri may be recommended. Epidural steroid injections, physical therapy and surgery are therapeutic options.
