Had mono, blood test showed normal liver function though. how long after symptoms disappear before alcohol is allowed? i am 35, and otherwise healthy.

Hard to say: Mono often causes liver inflammation and that is where the toxins in alcohol must be broken down. If you drink while the liver is already compromised, you increase the chance of liver injury.Light drinking might not stir up a big problem, but keeping that in mind could help you avoid some harsh consequences.

I had mono in late January and in March I got my bloodwork tested and it was all normal except bilirubin 2.2 mg/dL. ALT & AST both normal as well. I have been moderately drinking alcohol. Should I go back and get my blood retested? I feel 100% healed
